Why is it illegal for cosmetic-related products to claim they ';make the nail grow faster';?

It's illegal to claim that because it's impossible. Nothing can make nails (or hair) grow faster. It's called false advertising. But there are still companies that try to imply that if you buy their product, they will grow.

What the products can do is help keep your nails (or hair) stronger and healthier so that it doesn't break as easily. So using a good strengthening polish can help keep your nails in good condition so that they CAN grow, but it won't actually MAKE them grow. Why is it illegal for cosmetic-related products to claim they ';make the nail grow faster';?
I never heard that it was Illeagl because alot of nail polishes claim to make them grow faster such as Sally Hansen. Why is it illegal for cosmetic-related products to claim they ';make the nail grow faster';?
no. alot do it
Technically it is illegal since it is impossible for the products to actually help grow nails. Many older make-up books talk about this being false advertising and the various laws related to sales of these types of products. But it is not upheld in any way.
