I have a 3 month old car with a nail in the front passenger side tire. The nail is not on the bottom of the tire but sort of around the curving part of the sidewall. It's been in there for over 2 weeks and I haven't lost any air from the tire. I have been told that where the nail is located that the tire can't be plugged. Should I leave the nail in or take it out?Nail in Tire, Leave it in or take it out?
If you take it out the tire will go flat. Leave it in until you can get the tire repaired or replaced. Eventually it will start to lose air however.Nail in Tire, Leave it in or take it out?
Drive it to a mechanic shop and have them try to plug it. You don't want to lose the tire when you least expect it, do you?
take it to a auto repair shop
If you take the nail out you will probably get a flat tire, you are right about not being able to patch a tire off the tread, you will have to buy a new tire.
It can't be plugged on the sidewall of the tire , but it can be patched. Get it fixed soon or your luck will run out.
consult a local tire shop.
leave it in and go get the tire repaired. more than likely it's fixable. if you take the nail out, you will leak air.
