he may have put 50 psi in the tire and the drive home heated the tire, thus raising the pressure. Check it when cold.Is it normal for this to be done when taking a nail out of a tire?
I hope you didn't pay for that repair.
1. External plugs are not an approved method of repair for any passenger radial tire. The factory warranty on your tire is now void. Congratulations.
2. In addition to not knowing proper tire repair procedure this greasemonkey clearly does not understand proper inflation pressure either. Always use the inflation pressure recommended by the vehicle manufacturer which is usually found on the inside of the drivers door on the Tire Load and Inflation tag.
the gauge could just be reading wrong, when you drive after a certain amount of time the air in a tire heats up so it could really be 35 but read a higher number, one time back in december i saw one of my tries real low from the cold temp, it was about half flat, but it wasn't so bad so i figured i could just run a couple errands and then go by the gas station to add air and when i tested it it said about 34 which i knew was wrong but i would have to wait anyways so i could put the right amount so i waited til the next day and drove straight to the gas station and it said 16 and it was the same air pressure, so just check the air tomorrow morning or sometime before you drive it and then you'll get the right PSI
He probably aired it up to make sure the leak was fixed, but did not adjust it back to the correct pressure.
