If 40% of my toe nail is purple and its ready to fall out how long will it take to grow back?

i was at basketball practice and my shoes were pretty tight someone stepped on my foot and my toe nail became puple and when i walked it hurt then my dad put salt water on it and it stopped hurting but people still stepped on it and as i said it is 40% purple and i noticed that the nail is popping out and the edges is all it need for the nail to fall out will it grow out and do i need to consult a doctor?If 40% of my toe nail is purple and its ready to fall out how long will it take to grow back?
That is trauma to your toenail, yes, you should see a Podiatrist. It takes a long time for a toe nail to grow out, and it can become quite uncomfortable. The Podiatrist will remove it if it starts getting difficult for you to keep your socks and shoes on. The nail that will grow underneath will be normal unless the Matrix has been injured. All you need is patience, the toe nail grows much slower that the finger nails do. If you can keep your feet bare or in open toe sandals while at home it will help. It is an amazing experience, I have lost a thumb nail to trauma, and once seeing the ';radio wires'; under the nail that fell off, it was difficult to believe that there would ever be a normal nail to replace it, now of course I could not tell just which thumb nail it was. being since i just went thru that it fell off about a week to a week and a half after i hit it once its dead it starts to disconnect from the skin it takes months to grow back though
If you can try to rip your dead toe nail off, if you don't the new one won't have room to grow properly and will be kind of deformed.
the new one is mostly formed before the old one falls off
