Has anybody heard of putting nail polish on a wart to make it go away?

I heard someone say if you put nail polish on a wart it will suffocate and go away... does this sound stupid?Has anybody heard of putting nail polish on a wart to make it go away?
warts are caused by viruses the nail polish might cut off oxygen to the living infected tissue causing it to die and fall off. I have never heard of this practice before but it might work.Has anybody heard of putting nail polish on a wart to make it go away?
Warts are viruses and flourish with a blood supply, and seem to need air. Common household cures are putting duct tape on them and leaving it for a month or two; using a banana skin poultice on it daily (potassium treatment); or doing what you're saying.

I personally think that the wart removers that you buy at the store have gotten much better. Dr. Scholl's makes Freeze Away, Wartner's makes another.
You would probably be better off going to the drugstore and buying wart remover for $2.99....Much safer
No, but I read somewhere that using duct tape on a wart is more effective than many remedies you can get at the doctor's. Here's a website with more details: http://www.aafp.org/afp/20030201/tips/8.鈥?/a>

According to them (American Family Physicians), there's an 80 percent success rate with duct tape.
