Is it ok to put nail polish if you have a toe fungus?
I wouldn't - I wouldn't want to contaminate the nail polish. See a doctor for an accurate diagnosis and an effective treatment. Is it ok to put nail polish if you have a toe fungus?
NO! You should'nt be putting anything on your toenails that have fungus other than a medical supplement. You should really talk to you your doctor about what products and steps you should be taking to rif your toes of this fungus. Is it ok to put nail polish if you have a toe fungus?

IPod has a nail through it. Is my health at risk? Please respond quick.?
So I just hammered a nail through my iPod screen.
There is some sort of black hole getting bigger on the iPod and releasing a really wicked bad smell.
And its heating up...really fast.
I just spilt some water on it and it hissed.
I don't know what the hell is in the iPod.
Will it explode anytime soon?
Its been 8 mins.
Please reply soon if it will.
What's the smell?
Toxic at all?IPod has a nail through it. Is my health at risk? Please respond quick.?

Is there any way that you can sterilize nail polish while it's in the bottle? If so, how?
Sterelize nailpolish? NO!
The only way to do that would be to boil it, and that would probably make it explode, and if not explode, at least change the chemical makeup and ruin the consistency. It's pretty sterile inside the bottle when you buy it :)Is there any way that you can sterilize nail polish while it's in the bottle? If so, how?
why would any one think about doing that anyways??

After a nail 'detaches' from the nailbed, does it 're-attach' itself?
I have (had) acrylic nails, one of them 'snapped' off halfway and took my natural nail with it...after going to the E.R i was told to 'leave it' there and let my bottom half grow out, as this will push the damaged portion out.. will the 'damaged' portion re-attach itself..? I am afraid to bang my nail and detach it..After a nail 'detaches' from the nailbed, does it 're-attach' itself?
No, it won't re-attach itself. The nail will regrow. The nail will grow from the bottom where the nail bed is.
I have smashed my finger before and the whole nail came unattached except for a pea sized area on the side and the nail eventually fell off and it regrew from the nail bed. After a nail 'detaches' from the nailbed, does it 're-attach' itself?
No, it'll grow back.

How do you get a dead nail? is it just by accident or..?
haha. i'm confused..
do you get dead nails just by accident [like someone stepped on your toes.. or something fell on your toes.. etc] or do they 'just happen' at times? How do you get a dead nail? is it just by accident or..?
It can be from an accident, also can be from a nail fungus or finger bed infection, and can also come from too much pressure (sometimes when women get pregnant one of their toenails will die from the added weight being added so quickly over a few months)

Miracle nail fungus treatment, could it be true?
I have tried everything to cure my toe nail fungus with no success. Yesterday, I was in the salon and a someone who works there specializing in foot care, sold me a topical liquid that she said was a secret miracle cure that she guaranteed would get rid of my nail fungus in less than a month. Well, she filed down and cut the nails and put a drop on each nail. She sold me the bottle for about $150.00. I am amazed that today, the very next day, the nails look incredibly better. They have returned to their white color and everything. My concern is this... I am not usually a believer in miracle cures., and now i am worried that there might be something dangerous to my health in this solution. Does anyone know if a topical treatment can be dangerous? I have checked the interent and there doesn't seem to be any miracle cures out there.Miracle nail fungus treatment, could it be true?
After getting recurring ingrown toe nails partially due to nail fungus, and recently developed a nasty fungal infection in my left big toe, I went online searching for an alternative to precription meds that really works and I've found it!
It's made by a well-known natural product co. called,';Jason'; and it's called,';No Fungus Among Us Nail Care - Nail Saver.';
Not only was there something reminiscent of pus eminating from underneath the nail, but there was a blackish/green discoloration under part of the nail and the nail was starting to detach itself from the nail bed, along with some throbbing pain. This was not an ingrown nail, since I've had many in my life.
My nail is now reattached to the nail bed, no more pus liquid, pain and the discoloration is almost back to normal!
I purchased it from www.mothernature.com for less than $6!
Goes on like nail polish around cuticles, etc.
And it contains all natural ingredients-very safe.
Highly recommended. At the mothernature web site, other customers have reviewed this product with amazing results.Miracle nail fungus treatment, could it be true?

i mean you sure could if you wanted to but the question is why?

no it sounds to girly
Sure, why not? I would much rather see a guy with a nice pedi than the grungy tootsies some guys sport.
If you're feeling really brave and daring you may want to try a very pale pink or nude. It won't be any more noticeable than clear.
If you have not one so already, pick up some polish remover and cotton balls for when it's time to redo your toenails.
Sure. That's better than some guys with nasty gross toenails.
If someone objects....ask them to take it off your toes!
yeppp....some girls perfer guys with clean toes especially in the summer when wearing flip flops..i mean i perfer it @!@!!
I think it's fine. I used to paint my dad's clear all the time because it made his toenails look extra clean. It doesn't have to be super shiny, it can just be used to protect your nails.
eeewww
yes! it protects your nails!
NO!!! It is okay to get pedicures though. Nobody wants nasty feet, but I think the polish is taking it too far.

My big toenail curves downwards into the flesh and it's hard to put on nail polish smoothly. Any tips?
I have a bit of an ingrown nail on my big toe. The toenail curves into the flesh on both sides, making very difficult to paint my nail without touching the fleshy part at the side.
How do I get past that?
Any ideas?
ThanksMy big toenail curves downwards into the flesh and it's hard to put on nail polish smoothly. Any tips?
Well first you need to get your ingrowns removed, or else they will start hurting and keep growing.
You can treat most ingrown toenails at home. Here's how:
Soak your feet. Do this for 15 to 20 minutes twice a day, using warm salt water (1 teaspoon of table salt per pint of water) or warm, soapy water. Soaking reduces swelling and relieves tenderness.
Give your nail some help. Put fresh bits of cotton under the ingrown edge after each soaking. This will help the nail eventually grow above the skin edge.
Use a topical antibiotic. Apply an antibiotic ointment and bandage the tender area.
Choose sensible footwear. Consider wearing open-toed shoes or sandals until your toe feels better.
Take pain relievers. If there's severe pain, take over-the-counter pain relievers, such as acetaminophen (Tylenol, others) or ibuprofen (Advil, Motrin IB, others) to relieve the pain until you can make an appointment with a podiatrist or dermatologist.
Check your feet. If you have diabetes, check your feet daily for signs of ingrown toenails or other foot problems.
Often, you can take care of ingrown toenails on your own. If the pain is severe or spreading, however, your doctor can take steps to relieve your discomfort and help you avoid complications.
If you have diabetes or another condition that causes poor circulation to your feet, you're at greater risk of complications from an ingrown toenail.
If home remedies don't help, your doctor can treat an ingrown toenail by trimming or removing the ingrown portion of your nail to help relieve pain. Before this procedure, your doctor numbs your toe by injecting it with an anesthetic. After the procedure, you may need to rest your foot and soak it in warm water. Your doctor may also recommend using topical or oral antibiotics, especially if the toe is infected or at risk of becoming infected.
To help prevent an ingrown toenail:
Trim your toenails straight across. Don't curve your nails to match the shape of the front of your toe. If you have your toenails done at a nail salon, be sure to tell your pedicurist to trim your nails straight across. If you have circulation problems in your feet from disorders such as diabetes or peripheral vascular disease, see a podiatrist regularly to have your nails professionally trimmed.
Keep toenails at a moderate length. Trim toenails so that they're even with the tips of your toes. If you trim your toenails too short, the pressure from your shoes on your toes' tissue may direct your nails to grow into the tissue.
Wear shoes that fit properly. Shoes that place excessive pressure on your toes or pinch your toes may cause your nails to grow into surrounding tissue. If you have nerve impairment to your feet, you may not be able to sense if your shoes fit too tightly. Take care to buy and wear properly fitted shoes, preferably from a shoe store specializing in fitting shoes for people with foot problems.
Wear protective footwear. If your work puts you at risk of injuring your toes, buy footwear such as steel-toed shoes, which protect your toes.
If you dont want to remove it, you can hold the skin that gets in the way back as far as possible with one hand, paint the ingrown part, and wait for it to dry, but then it increases the risk of infection. My big toenail curves downwards into the flesh and it's hard to put on nail polish smoothly. Any tips?
Maybe you should get a pedicure and let them worry about it. They will most like filt and cut the nail to make it easier to work with. Or you can just use a toothpick or q tip to remove the polish that gets on your skin.
well go 2 a doctors i had an ingrown t-nail tis v sre
i think maybe you should go to the dr. for an ingrown toenail. It's not only the toenail growing weird, but there's usually an infection too. I suggest you have it looked at and then they can show you how to trim it properly, so it doesn't happen again. this way, you don't have to figure out how to paint it like that.

For prom I am wanting the fake french nails is it a good idea?
My mother really doesn't like the idea but I have always wanted them. If anyone knows if they are a wast of money or if they are really harmful to you it would be very helpful for me to make my decision. Thank youFor prom I am wanting the fake french nails is it a good idea?
The french tips do look good. They are not harmful to your health.
However they are harmful to your natural nails.
So, If you have no intention of growing out your own nails and can afford they acrylics. Then yes they would look beauiful for your prom, Especially if you tipped the color the same as your dress. :-)For prom I am wanting the fake french nails is it a good idea?
Difinitely get them. I've had them several times and they have never harmed me. They just thin your nails a little bit before they put them on with a dremmel tool to make them rough to give the acrylic something to stick to. It isnt too thin when you take them off though, just use regular nail polish when you remove them. A huge amount of girls have those in high school, i'm not sure why your mom would disagree. They make you look nice and like you take care of yourself. I would get acrylic ones with white tips, and have a thin line painted on the border of the pink and white part of your nail to match your dress (they'll know what you mean). It would look really cute.
I think it would be a good idea. It is common at proms for girls to have the fake french tip nails, and they look good and sophisticated. As far as I know, there are no health concerns or risks to getting them. If done by a professional, they should last about 2 weeks, and then you will have to get them filled or replaced. I think they are worth the money for a prom.
Hope this helps.
If you get them on in a salon they're more harmful then a quick kit from the drugstore. They do hurt when they are removed and can leave a nasty residue.
A better idea would be to go to a salon and get french tips painted. It's cheaper and I personally think it looks sooooo much better.
I paint my own myself! :)
I think that would LOOK awesome!! I've had them done plenty of times!
It might hurt if your nail tech accidently files into your cuticle, but it's just sting....I'd say get them done no earlier than a week before prom, so they still look good.
They'll start to grow out and be noticeable, so either you can fill them in, and keep them, or just let them fall off, or get them proffessionally removed
It's called Acrylic French Tip. and It's not a bad idea. Some girls I know can never grow their nails. and having french nails is very formal and classy. Just don't have it too long. Although, having it on will damage your nail pad. But it'll get healthy after a month (after removing it) .....but if you can grow your nails ...natural is the best way to go! it is classier....
Good Luck!
Liz does not know what she is talking about...
They don't hurt and they are on for 2 - 3 weeks...
They are really nice ESPECIALLY for prom!
Also, you can get like the press on ones from CVS and they will look nice for the evening.
I have not had mine off in over 1 year...
DONT DO IT!!! Just get a manicure of your real nails! I used to get my nails done every two weeks for a few years! It hurts like hell when you break or crack one! Its expensive and it ruins your nails!
They tear your nails apart when they come off so I'd just invest in a real french manicure. The fake ones are annoying anyways.
I got them for my winter formal, and liked them
just glue them on really well!!
and remove them the way the box says too. DO NOT RIP THEM OFF
No! They look so tacky and are uncomfortable. Just get a $5 french nail polish kit at walmart...I have one and it looks great! Plus, they're the same price.
yea they r fancy, pretty and sophisticatd!
but if u wanna take them off, u shud take them off from the bttm,
then it wont hurt reli,
nd pik a really bright color dhat stands out nd matches ur dress!
you mean tips. you should get them if you want them. i did and loved them
NO! Don't get them. They hurt when the fall off, and they look tacky.
i think you should. Their cute and not harmful.
i've heard they can be painful, plus they're a huge waste of money! nobody at prom is gonna be looking at ur nails anyway.
Good Luck!

Dry nail polish? How can I make it like, less stickier?
Okay, so, I've have this bottle of nail polish for a while, there's still a lot in it, but its really sticky and kinda dry, so it's kinda hard to put on. My friend's mom owns a nail salon where there's this liquid you can put in the nail polish bottle to make the nail polish in the bottle like, like dry? Any idea what this liquid is, how much it is, and where I can buy it? Thanks!Dry nail polish? How can I make it like, less stickier?
Don't let them fool you as if it is this magical liquid. ALL it is is nail polish remover. Just put a verrrrrrrry small amount in your nail polish and shake it all about. It should be back to its texture. Dry nail polish? How can I make it like, less stickier?
YOu could buy it from your friends mom's nail salon

Is it ok to put a red nail polish while going to work?
i know it might seem a silly question =D but pls answerIs it ok to put a red nail polish while going to work?
Depends on were you work. If you work somewhere that you need to be fashionable it will be ok. Some workplaces dont allow you to wear nail polish. If you want to wear nail polish get a neautral colour that isnt so brightIs it ok to put a red nail polish while going to work?
The color of your nails in only one small aspect of your overall appearance. Alone, it means little. It might mean something depending on the rest of your appearance and what your job is.
Your appearance sends a message about who you are, what you value, and how you can be approached. Most places hire based on the suitability of your appearance to the work environment.
Someone should mention something to you if there is a problem--if it is a friendly work environment and you are respected.
It will depend on the employer's dress code, some will allow it but others will not.
it is ok and really cute 2
uh yeh

I have a Cambell Hausfield framing nail gun. Is there a kit I can get to make it a positive placement gun?
I`d be almost willing to bet they do. Just search the manufacturers name and navigate the site.
I have a paslode that has the adaptation. Don`t know why they`d be any different.

How long does it take for the nail to come back...?
My nail fell off when i fell up concrete stairs. There is absolutely no nail what-so-ever. How long will it take for the nail to grow back(so it is just a ';short nail';)... and how long will it take to completely come back... is there anything I should do to keep it clean? Thank you!!!!How long does it take for the nail to come back...?
It takes about 9-12mo for a toenail to come back and about 6-9mo for a finger nail to come back. In the meantime, keep the area covered with Neosporin and a band-aid until the new nail starts growing in. You can also soak the area with warm water and 2 tablespoons of Epsom salts. Hope this helps! How long does it take for the nail to come back...?
I Had to have mine removed. It was November when I had it removed and it had completely grown back by June. I got married in June and was worried because it was a beach wedding and I was barefoot. About 6 months or so before it looked okay.
My big toenail fell off last summer...it took about 6 weeks to get a ';stub'; of a toenail... :)... and about 10 months to grow back completely.
My son lost his toe nail about 2 weeks ago and it is already growing back, it shouldn't take to much time.

Hi, I just split red nail polish onto my white carpet and was wondering what type of cleaner can remove it?
nail polish remover or hair sprayHi, I just split red nail polish onto my white carpet and was wondering what type of cleaner can remove it?
Nail Polish remover and 409 Carpet cleanerHi, I just split red nail polish onto my white carpet and was wondering what type of cleaner can remove it?
carpet cleaner
BUY A RUG! ;)
oxiclean with water. or get a steam carpet cleaner.
I did that before, and NOTHING I did got the nail polish out. Good luck.
Oxiclean carpet cleaning spray. Someone said Acetone. You can get that at Sally Beauty Supply store, but be careful, it might eat a hole in it.
Nail polisher remover first, when that dries dab it with bleach.
do not beleive you - nobody in there right mind would have a white carpet -
Secondly - if you did have a white carpet, no one would have teenagers anywhere around that carpet with nail polish.
Why would you not apply nail polish in the bathroom or bedroom or even the kitchen table ??????????????//
Nail polish remover will spread it around and make it worse. Best you can do is wait for it to dry and pick it out, or if it hasn't gone down to far, trim it off.
Remove the bulk of the polish first. Use a clean cloth and pull the polish in an upward motion (so as not to smear it around). Keep doing that until the bulk of it is removed. Then use a clean cloth with nail polish remover to get the remaining polish. Try to use upward motions not to smear it around. After doing that for a while, it's ok to use a rubbing back and forth motion, BUT ONLY between your fingers. In other words, try to grab some carpet fibers with the nail polish remover soaked cloth and rub your finger tips back and forth over the fibers. Repeat as often as necessasry. Don't give up and let it dry. Keep at it until you think it's all gone, or removed to the extent that it won't be noticeable. After it dries it should be ok.
When all is done, if you find out that your best efforts didn't provide very good results, then contact a carpet installation company and ask that they replace a portion of your carpeting. Unless your carpeting is very old and faded, the new carpeting seciton should blend in very well and you won't be able to notice any difference.
Get remover and rub it in. Let it dry and repet it about 3 times. Theres no cleaner for that u may need to get a professional in.
well, u could try using nail polish remover. try pouring it onto the stained carpet and see if it works.
Acetone will remove it Check with a hardware store. when I was working somebody always brought their nail polish to spill, and acetone comes in a bigger bottle and was cheaper than polish remover. Takes a lot sometimes.
methylated spirit is probably your best bet it gets all sorts of make up out of your carpets. Please note though you must do a spot test first preferably in an area you don't always see just to make sure it doesn't dis-colour your carpetrimmel

I think latex paint would work. but if it is a leather steering wheel you should be able to stain it back.

If u remove your toe nail will it grow back?
Yes.
The nail bed, located under your toenail, nurtures the toenail as it grows. The actual nail is created under your cuticle, beneath that ring of skin on the bottom of your toenail. If u remove your toe nail will it grow back?
Yep, I hurt mine once and the doctor removed it and it grew back.If u remove your toe nail will it grow back?

Toe Nail Fungus ... How Can I Kill It?
I have had this toe nail fungus for a while. I have tried killing it by putting Vicks Vapor Rub on it for weeks ... this has not worked. Short of a prescription ... does anyone know of a home remedy that will kill this fungus?Toe Nail Fungus ... How Can I Kill It?
There isn't one. Lots of products out there, but none will work since it is not a topical issue that causes the nail fungus.
The prescription will only knock it out, but future exposure will mean the fungus can come back. Prescription also has possible liver issues.
So, best to live with it unless it hurts.Toe Nail Fungus ... How Can I Kill It?
Tea Tree Oil will sort it
check out my answer to anne m on this rusty,,,,supposing by your handle that you paint for a living,if you do,the chemicals in paint sometimes (this according to docs, pediatricians, other md specialists within AAEM ,american academy of environmental medicine in wichita) aggravate fungus in humans by impairing human immune cells ability to recognize the fungus as an invader,,,,,,,,like a cop at a checkpoint that aint checkin identity cards, removing the source of chemical from skin or lung absorption can cause it to finally dry up.the fungal spores shed in the house can be triggers for the body to get a systemic complication of the flu where weakened resistance allows spores to start reproducing and causing further illness,,,,,,,spores can also lead to thrush in kiddies
i freaked out when the dr told me i had a little nail fungus he wrote me a rx that cost a fortune so this is what i know that has helped me. while in the shower the last thing u do is clean under your toenails push back ur cutical, once in a while if im board i used hydrogyn peroxide and soak my feet i am always conscious of the thickness of my nail which causes fungus, mostly fungus is dead skin not removed, if ur nails are thick cut them always keep them short until the fungus grows out, hey ive even used bleach to kill anything living in my toes but only for a few seconds and dont try it ok i dont want u to have a bad reaction to bleach.
Toe nail fungus is when the toenail becomes yellow, brittle, and thick.
Soaking your feet in Listerine and very warm water until the water cools down and rubbing Vick's on and around the area every night, wearing socs to bed is the best way to kill the fungus without using prescription medications.
This will take several months, but it does work.
If it hasn't already happened, Lamisil is putting a cream over the counter soon. There are several anti fungal creams and lotions over the counter for nail fungus.
Tea tree oil.
Go to a podiatrist. (did i spell that right? you know- a foot doctor.) I have the same problem, my toenail actually came halfway off and there was a new one growing underneath it. The doctor cut the rest of the nail off (didn't hurt a bit because it was dead) and cleaned the skin underneath (just tickles a bit) and he gave me a topical laquer to put on my toe at night before bed. I go back every month for him to file it and see if the medicine is doing it's job. If it doesn't work, he'll put me on Lamisil... I don't think there are home remedies that will kill it, but the doctor said that chlorine and sun helps. Good luck.
I used over the counter remedies which didn't work. I then went to a podiatrist and he did a blood test. wanted to check my liver because it can cause liver damage. I was then put on a prescription for a month, which didn't work. I gave up and after a few years of aggravation I found a cure on the internet. It is distilled vinegar. You have to use it twice a day for 6 months and cannot forget an application. I used an ear dropper. You can pick it up at any grocery store and it is relatively inexpensive if you purchase it in the gallon jug. It works and it is easy. Try it you have nothing to lose but the fungus.

What are those small white spots that appear on each nail. Is it true it means that someone likes you?
if it dosen't mean that what does it mean? What are those small white spots that appear on each nail. Is it true it means that someone likes you?
I always heard it was the number of lie's you'd told. What are those small white spots that appear on each nail. Is it true it means that someone likes you?
No, they're impact marks. You know? Like when you slam your finger in a door---it leaves a white mark.
Or are you talking about the crescent under your cuticle? This is the end of your growth plate showing under your nail. This is where your nail grows from.
it could be an old wise tale but really its just damage to the nail from bumping it.
It could be a calcium deficiency or calcium deposits.I would say it depends on your calcium intake.

How long does it take to get rid of yellow toenails? (from nail polish)?
Im getting married in November and want to start getting pedicures, only thing is my toenail on my big toe is yellow. i did research and found out they turn yellow from nail polish, and my toenails are constantly polished and have been for probably 2 years or so.
exactly how long would i have to leave polish off before they turn normal? or is there anything i can put on them to clear the yellow up faster?
i dont want to walk in the nail salon looking like i got some fungus toes or something!
thanks! How long does it take to get rid of yellow toenails? (from nail polish)?
Soak them in lemon juice for about 30 minutes. How long does it take to get rid of yellow toenails? (from nail polish)?
yeah you don't wanna walk in with fungus. Is that particular nail dry and peels? Honestly I'd go buy some fungal medicine and put it on with no polish for a month or 2. I've never heard of nails getting yellow from polish...Polish can stain but doesn't stain yellow.. It will take your whole nail to grow out.
It will take until the nail grows out. However, it isn't the nail polish that causes the nail to turn yellow, at least not exactly. It is the pigment in the polishes that leave discolored nails under them. The best thing you can do to keep it from happening is to make sure that you always use a base coat, especially under any hugh pigment colors such as reds, blacks, etc.
Go into your local chemist and have a look around the nails section - there is some stuff out there for whitening nails after using dark polish! It fizzes in the water - blowed if I can remember what its called though! Might be in the artifical nails area too!

What is the time it take to grow a finger nail?
what is the growth time to grow finger nails and any tips on how to make them fasterWhat is the time it take to grow a finger nail?
The index finger nail takes the longest to grow!
Other grow in about a month.
U wont believe this until u try. Rub the finger nails with a clove of garlic everyday, makes the nails grow faster and stronger.
Take a calcium supplement too. Increase ur intake of milk/cheese/yoghurt. All r good sources of calcium. What is the time it take to grow a finger nail?
I broke my nail so low,it hurt so much and bled, OWW about 2 weeks later iy had grown alot. greater the calcium conyent better and stronger is the growth....
it takes abt a week...
one month for fingers %26amp; one year for toes
idk like hecka slow....i used 2 use that sally hanson stuff but yeah that worked pretty good....i always peeled it off so it didn't work that godd but idk try that!
I don't think there's any definitive time-line for growing finger nails. It's like hair, it's going to differ between people.
My nails grow very fast, but not my daughter's. I don't think that you can MAKE them grow faster. But when they do start growing, you can do things to make them look better. File them to round them and gently push your cuticle back. There are also creams that you can rub into the nail and cuticle.rimmel
My cat got in a fight and now on his right foot his nail got ripped out or broken pretty bad it hurts him ?
it hurts him if you touch it but he can walk and run just fine what can I do I cant afford a vet? Will his nail grow back?My cat got in a fight and now on his right foot his nail got ripped out or broken pretty bad it hurts him ?
The nail bed might be too damaged for the nail to grow back. This cat needs to go to the vet. He could get an infection in the injured area. If you can't afford a vet visit, you can't afford to own a pet. Please be a responsible pet owner and take your cat to the vet. Many vets can help you with costs by starting a payment plan for your cat's care. Good luck!
You also might want to make your cat an ';indoor cat'; from now on to avoid fights and exposure to feline diseases from feral cats and other outdoor cats.

Black toe nail what could it be?
I have a black toe nail but it doesn't hurt much what could it beBlack toe nail what could it be?
I know somebody else with the same thing. I think it's normal because he's a healthy person.Black toe nail what could it be?
It's nothing serious, it usually means you hit it really hard and there's blood underneath it, it'll go away in a week or less.
It could be that you injured your toe and/or nail and the blood has collected underneath the nail.
There really isn't anything to do for this, except wait for the nail to either grow out or fall off naturally. Don't worry if it falls off, a new nail will grow back.

My son pinched his finger and it looks like his nail is going to fall off, what should i do?
what kind of oinments should i use to prevent infection?or is there nothing really i can do?he is only one year old so i don't want to do anything that will cause him more pain or discomfort. My son pinched his finger and it looks like his nail is going to fall off, what should i do?
Just leave it alone.
I had the same thing happen to me a few months back. Smashed my thumb in a car door. Turned black and fell off.
The doctor said not to pop it with a needle to alleviate the pressure (which everyone was recommending) because it could cause infection.
Let nature run its course. Mine was fully heeled with a new nail and everything about 6 months later! My son pinched his finger and it looks like his nail is going to fall off, what should i do?
even though there is still a nail growing under it... u should still take him to the doctor becuase if might get infected... and that's not a good sign.
Don't panic ... it happens to 1,219,939 people every day.
oooooooooooo well i had the same thing
and i went to the doctor to c if it was broken
they really did not do anything
cause there is a new nail growing under the broken one so dont worry
Let it fall of naturally. Wrap it up (non stick...cuz it'll hurt coming off later) and plan on a long recovery....months to grow it back.
Doctor is always the best choice, but if you can't go....this idea will help.....
neosporin. but there is really nothing to do other wise except to let the nail fall off. Eventually, it will stop hurting and then it will just fall off, either all together or in pieces
put a band aid on it
if it is going to fall of you've got to let it, but don't pull it. All you can pretty much do is put some hydrogen peroxide on it with a band-aid. The nail will grow back.
apply neosporin to it.
Take him to the doc. He will probably put a small hole in the nail to relieve the pressure and stop the nail from falling off altogether as well as prescribe any medications for infection.
Squeez nail and let the blood run out and under the nail. Then stick it under sum cold water and put sum neosporin on it and put a bandaid on tight but not to tight. just enough to let air in and you put it on too tight the nail might fall off. thats what i did when it happen to my little brother .
Doctor or emergency room.
other than booboo kisses and bandaids, just let nature take it's course! Sorry =(
Let it do its thing
Put ice on it for a while to help numb it..but if he didn't break the skin it shouldn't get infected. If it did break the skin I would put some triple antibotic ointment on it (this does not burn or sting). May want to give him some Tylenol. It's a pain reliever and an anti-inflammatory. Will help take the swelling down, and ease the pain a bit. I'd keep it covered with a band-aid for a while to make sure he doesn't catch it on something and rip the nail off....
Sorry to hear this... Poor lil guy! My 9 year old son slammed his toe in the garage door and eventually lost his nail. Took a couple of months for it to fall off though... Hope he feels better! Lots of luvin mommy!!
Hope this helps!
p.s. It will heal and begin to grow a new nail underneath before this nail falls off.....
Take him to the doctor it may need to be removed.
The nail will grow back.
You can put a little Neosporin on a bandaid and wrap it to prevent infection. Make sure you wash his hands often.
A baby aspirin will help if there's any pain.
if the nail is loose finish pulling it off. It'll hurt for a few but will get better
Usually the nail will turn black and fall off and a new one will grow in. It happened so many times to my little brother. Just clean it and put ointment so it wont get infected and let the new one grow in.
I wouldn't use any creams on it until you've called the doctor and asked. At that age, there are probably a million medications you shouldn't use.
But don't worry. I've lost a fingernail (and a toenail) before, and they grow back. Except they tend to grow slower (like my finger) or faster (like my toe) than the rest of my nails do.
Hope the little tyke feels better soon.
Neosporian, and put a band aid on it and the nail will pro bally fall off dont try to pull the nail off let it fall off by its self.
no really much you can do.. if it does fall off keep a bandage on it
It won't bother him for long. It will bother you much more! Neosporin Pain is good, but only if you can bandage it in a way that prevents him from licking it or eating it.
I'd just keep it clean as possible until it heals, and discourage his putting his finger in his mouth.
That recently happened to my nephew, who is 5, only he actually did lose his nail, the had to stich it back in to try to prevent infection. Definitely keep it covered, and maybe you should take him to a doctor to take a look at it just to be safe. I'm sure they will give you an ointment to keep on it.
You can use bacitracin to prevent infection. About the nail falling off, if it is going to fall off it will and there is nothing we can do about it but just leave it alone. Once the new one starts coming in it will push the old one off by itself. If the nail starts to fall and before the new one pushes it off and it is hanging where it can get caught on things then you may want to take it off easily but not until it is really falling off and hanging sort of saying. Hope this was of help.
I have 4 kids and my youngest is 23 mths old. I also work at a daycare center. Clean his hand as good as possible by boiling it out with Peroxide. Then lubricate the finger very well with Neosporine (Pain relief) kind. This will heal it very quick and help with the pain. Put a Band-aid on the finger and repeat this daily until healed. Since he's so young, you may have to do this multiple times daily. There's no such thing as over doing it....it'll just speed the healing process.
Just leave it alone.

Ive got something yellowish next to my nail. Any idea what it is.?
at the top right of my nail theres is a bit of swelling and its greeny yellow and sore to touch.
is it infected any idea what it could be?Ive got something yellowish next to my nail. Any idea what it is.?
Yes it's infected. You've probably picked up a splinter or shard. Prick it with a needle and squeeze out all the bad stuff. Then bathe it in antiseptic.Ive got something yellowish next to my nail. Any idea what it is.?
Nail infection. Paronychia is infection of the periungual tissues. Onychomycosis is fungal infection of the nail plate, nail bed, or both.
Candidal nail infection manifests as a full-thickness nail plate infection; candidal paronychia manifests as painful red periungual swelling that may develop pus. Subungual infections are characterized by distal separation of one or several fingernails (onycholysis), with white or yellow discoloration of the subungual area.
Treatment of onychomycosis is challenging because the infection is embedded within the nail and is difficult to reach. As a result full removal of symptoms is very slow and may take a year or more.
It sounds like you either have a bacterial or fungal infection around your nail. You can try soaking it in warm water 20 min at a time, 3 times a day, but will probably end up needing to go to the doctor for antibiotics.
fungal toe nail infection the doctor can give u something for them but they usually take a while to go and if the nail is hard its worse it can also be a sign of diabetics and psrosis of the nail i think
no dout it is symptoms of jaundice a

Had my toe nail removed would like toes tattoos it possible?
Yes it can be done and if you can stomach watching it here is a video of someone who has no toe nail getting there toe tattooed http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6ht-TMfuA鈥?/a>
If you can't view the above then go onto youtube and search ';tattoo the missing toenail'; and you'll be able to watch the video.
OUCHHad my toe nail removed would like toes tattoos it possible?
Did you go through with it?! I stubbed my toe and now the nail has fallen off so I am going to get it tattooed. Please let me know your experience if you went through with it!
Had my toe nail removed would like toes tattoos it possible?
it will grow back and all the nerves are in your toes just stub it and you will know that it will hurt like the devil
It will grow back!
Absolutely. It should be very healed though before you do this - it has been done a lot. Choose a soft pink color that can be versatile and not extremely noticeable - something that can match up to a variety of polishes.
As a follow up to the video on youtube that was in an earlier answer, there was a simple interview with Shannon, from BME, now Bodytwo:
http://www.bodytwo.com/blog/2007/10/20/u鈥?/a>
That could help you out some.
It would work, but it would hurt like HELL.
And are you that vain?
Use nail art... :
|It is possible if you can take the pain. If your toenail was removed by a doctor, it won't come back for they have taken the root and all. If you decide to get the tattoo, you must take very good care of it throughout the healing and it's best if you don't wear shoes during that healing process. Air is your #1 healer.
did you get your toe nail permanently removed? if so a tattoo is an awesome idea if you are not getting your nail back. i would wait like 6 months for it to heal thoughrimmel

Red nail polish stained my nails with pink shade after removing, ideas on how to get rid of it?
It's common for red polish to leave a pinkish or even a yellow stain. I know there is some nail product you can buy to help de-stain them, but I've never tried it. I just let mine fade with time. From now on you should put on a clear base coat before using color. A base coat will really help prevent nail staining.Red nail polish stained my nails with pink shade after removing, ideas on how to get rid of it?
happens all the time.
try soaking your nails in soup with water, after that put some special cream and rub them, use nail polish remover again.
and if that doesn't work try putting a clear polish and removing it after it dries.
if not, there's a special nail file that removes a really thin layer of the nail, that would definitely get rid of the pink shade(:Red nail polish stained my nails with pink shade after removing, ideas on how to get rid of it?
The best way to return your nails to normal is by using a coarse buffer to file off the surface of the nail which is stained. Thereafter use a less coarse buffer then a shiner and your nails will be back to normal. I have used this method many times. In future use a good base coat to avoid this.
Sally Hansen makes a stain remover to take care of that problem that won't damage your nails and as the people before said, pick up a base coat while your getting the stain remover!
paint over it for now if a few coats of nail polish remover doesnt take it off. from now on use a clear base boat before applying nail polish.
The trick is to use a base coat so that it won't stain your nails.
nail polish remover on a Q-tip. wash your hands and scrub nails. next time try a base coat which will prevent staining
soak them in lemon juice. next time put a clear base coat on before you put on the red.
paint over it. lol, it will fade. try going over them with remover again
pink is pretty! :)

I lost my thumb nail. Will it ever grow another?
Yes, It will grow back just give it time. I lost my toe nail and it grew back.I lost my thumb nail. Will it ever grow another?
it actually depends my dad squashed his middle finger under a shop door and he's got no nail and that happened twenty years ago its just like skin in the shape of a nail, however if it was gently(as losing a nail could be, still pretty horrific) it probably will do, best to get it checked out by your GPI lost my thumb nail. Will it ever grow another?
yeah it will ive done that before and in about a month it grew back so just wait and you will have a nail back hope i helped.
Yes, you will. -It will take some time, but it will grow back.
Yes it will !
When I was a teenager - I trapped my thumb, and the nail came off - it grew back over about three months !
Another nail should grow in its place it can take a while but it should
yes another will grow, as long as the nail bed was not damaged.
It depends, if you lost the nail from the root then no
Yes - happened to my toe took a while though

My chihuahua's nail looks like its dry white like it is going to fall off.?
My chihuahua's nail looks like its dry white like it is going to fall off. Does anyone know what this might be? The groomers said it looked fine but, I don't think it is. Has this happened to anyone before. It looks like its growing more than the other nails. My chihuahua's nail looks like its dry white like it is going to fall off.?
if the groomer said it's fine i would trust her.
if the nail gets 'chipped' while cutting the nails there will be a dead peice of nail hanging off.
if you are still worried i would take the dog to the vet...My chihuahua's nail looks like its dry white like it is going to fall off.?
If it's growing its not dead.

put some gun powder on it then light it upI ripped off my hang nail and it wont stop bleeding... should I burn the wound shut? Or cut it deeper... what?
Pack it with triple antibiotic. The petroleum jelly will have keep pressure on it until coagulation occurs.
GO see a doctor geez
don't burn it or cut it. use a band aid
Get an ice cube and a towel wrap the towel around your finger, put the ice cube on it and then wrap the ice cube so it's one big tight ball around your finger. Squeeze tight for at least five mintues while trying to keep your hand above your heart. that shoud do it.
Cut it deeper! Yes, yes, may I watch? Will you mail me your toe clippings? I'm making a potion...la de da
Put pressure on it, maybe a band-aid
Just cut your finger right off, then cauterize the wound with fire.
SWEET.....post pics
cut it deeper lol wow how cool is that
Put pressure on it for some time and it should stop bleeding, if not, place ice pressure on it. If it continues to bleed, you should see a doctor.
Wash your hands with soap and water. Dry. Hold pressure on your finger for 2-3 min. The bleeding should stop. Next time, please clip off any hang nails you might get. I hope this helps.

How can i cut my cats nails trim it but not by the blood line?
you want to get a pair of nail trimmers for cats. to trim their nails, gently press on the middle of their paw pad and it should make their claws come out. you will notice that part of the claw is white and as it gets closer to their body it turns pink/red. you do not want to cut the part that is pink. that is the quick of the nail. i would suggest just trimming them the slightest bit to start out with to make sure you are comfortable with trimming and that your cat is too. usually trimmers will come with a file too. if you cut the quick it will bleed. you can buy products that will help with the bleeding if that happens. How can i cut my cats nails trim it but not by the blood line?
You can cut them just as you would your own - the pink part is the quick which will bleed and cause pain if you cut it, the white part is the nail which has no nerves in it. It's best to get a pair of cat clippers as it makes the job easier and does it better than any human clippers.
Also, more often is better than trying to get them very short at one time.
It's much harder to do a dog's nails as they are frequently black and it is hard to see the quick. How can i cut my cats nails trim it but not by the blood line?
Get cat trimmers and trim it except not too low or you may hit its blood line=]
If you can afford it i would send it so a groomer and have thm do it...b/c it could b bad if you mess up
you can use a normal pair of clippers and if you look closely (this only works if the nails are a light color like clear or something you can see the blood line with) and you should see the line... cut below it... about ughhh I'd say half of the small width of a CD case.
Hope this helped

My dog tore her nail off the quick. what can I give her for pain? or is there some way I can bandage it up?
she won't let anyone near her foot, and she's in terrible pain.My dog tore her nail off the quick. what can I give her for pain? or is there some way I can bandage it up?
Nothing you can do for her pain unless you take her to the vet. There are no OTC drugs you can give your dog. The vet might be a good idea since the he/she could clean and wrap it properly. If not cleaned well there is always the possibility of infection. I hope all works out well for you.My dog tore her nail off the quick. what can I give her for pain? or is there some way I can bandage it up?
Bandage probably won't stay on her. They actually sell a liquid called Kwik Stop for when you accidently cut a sogs nail to short and it bleeds I would use that. And as far as the pain goes you can always give a dog baby asprin, the easiest way to adminster it is the dunk it in peanut butter and let it slide down her throat.
NEOSPORIN!!!
it will prevent infection and take away the sting...
i dont think you can really bandage it up, and it definately wouldn't be comfortable for your dog...
just make her rest a while, like not going outside unless she needs to pee or something...let her jump on the couch and lay with you...put her to distract her.
You need to take her to the vet, they will be able to bandage her foot, and give her something for the pain. A vet will also ensure that it does not get infected.
if you put flour on the nail it will stop the bleeding as for the pain you can take her to a vet to get some pain medicine or it usually stops hurting in a couple hours
Bandage it up carfully, If the dog seems to be in alot of pain (which it will) I highly recommend you take it to the vet or just keep and eye on him and let him rest!
my dog does that a lot we put a sock over it and then tape it tight with strong tape and give him lots of water and replace the sock every one to two hours if it doesnt stop take her to the vet pronto
Get some gauze or just something that you would use to cover big cuts and wrap it up but be sure it is getting air so it can heel and watch it so it doesnt get infected.

why are u painting ur nails??My nail polish remover left impervious smears of polish on my nails! Won't come off! How can I get it off?
use pure acetone
or do what i do, ahahah file it off
works everytime [prob. not the BEST idea...but it works]
The same thing happened to me. Soak your fingers in your nail polish remover for 5-10 minutes. This will losen any polish left. Then just wash your hand really good so the smell goes away. Hope this helps!
i've noticed that only happens in one situation: too much remover on the cotton ball. if it's so wet, the polish that comes off on the cotton ball will go right back on your fingernails! my solution? use one of those 100% acetone fingernail polish remover ';jar.'; you put your finger in the jar and it soaks. thejar has a sponge inside that help remove the polish completely. check it out:
peace out.
dude Why are you using nail polish? Let your hands soak in water frist.
In the future, always start with a coat of clear polish first! I've never had a problem since I started doing that.
Careful with that suggestion about using a nail file! You can make your nails too thin and they can break or wear through above the nail bed, and you can be in for a painful time waiting for them to grow out. If you want to try this, use a buffing file instead of a regular nail file, and don't do it for long.
get another remover
You need a polish with acetone in it.
that happened to me, take a sponge put lots and lots of soap and water and nail polish remover, and rub it on your left spots, good luck!

How can I keep my nails getting it from drying out, using household items available at home? its really dry!!?
Make sure you wear rubber gloves when doing dishes etc. You can rub oil such as olive oil into your nails, cuticles and hands. Wash your hands after applying oil and then apply, base coat, polish and top coat. At night you could apply hand %26amp; nail cream or more oil and then wear cotton gloves to bed.How can I keep my nails getting it from drying out, using household items available at home? its really dry!!?
I use a product called polish first coat bonder, I found at Sally's, next two coats of color then a coat of quick dry.Do not do anything with your hands for at least 1 hour let the polish dry really well. I have moisterizer on my hands all the time some times i just do the back on my hands if I am working with my hands. Do not forget gloves when you go out in the cold and hand cream at night. If you are looking for a right now solution put Olive Oil on your nails. How can I keep my nails getting it from drying out, using household items available at home? its really dry!!?
soak in olive oil
put a lotion.
when ever i dont have a manicure i use a few cotes on clear nail polish and it keeps them shiney and they dont dry out as easy.

Yes.

My chihuahua's nail looks like its dry white like it is going to fall off.?
if the groomer said it's fine i would trust her.
if the nail gets 'chipped' while cutting the nails there will be a dead peice of nail hanging off.
if you are still worried i would take the dog to the vet...My chihuahua's nail looks like its dry white like it is going to fall off.?

get another remover
You need a polish with acetone in it.
that happened to me, take a sponge put lots and lots of soap and water and nail polish remover, and rub it on your left spots, good luck!
worked for me
why are u painting ur nails??My nail polish remover left impervious smears of polish on my nails!

Somebody hit my dog with a stick with a nail on it in her head do someone have any suggestion what i can do?
Treat the dog and then call the police ***only*** if your dog was totally innocent and leashed or on your property when it happened.Somebody hit my dog with a stick with a nail on it in her head do someone have any suggestion what i can do?
the first thing you should do is take your dog to the animal hospital, the second thing you should do is call animal control in you're area, the third thing you should do is carry some Mace with you for pretencion for you and your friend, the last thing you should do is keep your dog away from the place he was attacked it will trigger bad things for him, walk him in a different location so he gets the feelings of security, and confidence back but most important';give him a lot of love right now because he will never trust humans fully ever again.Somebody hit my dog with a stick with a nail on it in her head do someone have any suggestion what i can do?
Bring her to the vet ASAP!
And your wasting time here ......Why??????? Go to VET!!!!!!! Then call cops.

You need to take the dog to the vet to get a proper diagnosis and treatment.

Is it at all possible to get nail fungus from a dirty fish tank?
In all my time of keeping fish I have never had any trouble with funguses.
Just a few thoughts. Did you cut your finger? What else have you done that might contribute to this problem.
macIs it at all possible to get nail fungus from a dirty fish tank?
Can't say I've ever had nail fungus, and my fingers have been in lots of fish tanks.

My dog has hurt his paw it seems to be the nail that if you looked at his paw as if its a hand its the thumb?
nail how long will this take to heal. How long should i leave it before seeing a vet? There is no cut and the nail is just shorter but still visable. Thanks in advanceMy dog has hurt his paw it seems to be the nail that if you looked at his paw as if its a hand its the thumb?
You may notice your pet limping, or favoring one paw over the others. Check their feet; if you find a broken or torn nail, here's what to do.
1. If a piece of the nail is stuck/dangling, trim it off with clippers. Nail clippers come in two styles: guillotine style, where there is one moving blade, and scissors style, where both blades move.
2. If the torn nail is bleeding, apply styptic powder, corn starch, flour, or tissue to stop the blood flow.
3. If the nail is torn down into the pad, or the bleeding does not stop within a few minutes, the wound may need a vet's attention.
You may need another person to help hold the pet still - lay the animal on his belly or side. Have your helper drape themselves over the pet's body (don't squish them, just enough to hold them more or less still). You may want them to hold the leg steady with both hands, leaving you two hands free to work with. A good trick for general nail trimming that may be useful here is to have your helper cover the pet's eyes. If they don't see the clippers coming, they can't jerk their leg away!
If you're afraid of making things worse, or too squeamish to deal with the torn nail, don't feel bad. Call your vet and describe the problem, and they'll tell you if you need to come in or if you should just let nature take over. Left alone, the dangling edge of the nail will eventually come loose and fall off. Bleeding will stop. And sometimes, licking is the best medicine. My dog has hurt his paw it seems to be the nail that if you looked at his paw as if its a hand its the thumb?
The dewclaw? On the side of his foot? Sadly, these are quite often prone to injury, often to the point that they require surgery to remove. In adult dogs, they are composed of bone, and like any other can be broken. It's why many breeders pay the vets to have them removed at about 3 days of age. At that point they are cartilage and easily removed, thus preventing future injury. If its just the nail that's broken, watch for signs of infection. If there is still swelling or pain after 2-3 days, a trip to the vet would be in order.
If he's limping you should take him to the vet. That particular toe is called the dew claw and it is a source of many pains in a dog. It gets caught on stuff as they walk by and is often torn. My dog has a dew claw on his back feet (not very common) and the nails will grow into his toes if I don't keep them cut.
I think it's funny that no matter what a dogs problem is on here everyone says to take it to the vet. Come on Chalice, have you ran to the ER every time you hurt yourself? Actually you probably have. Anyway, animals ARE actually self healing like us and you don't have to take them in all the time, some people couldn't afford to anyway. It is a dew claw, they are prone to this, and they should be taken off as a pup, but can be done later if it appears it will be a problem. Use commone sense and if it doesn't get better right away, have that procedure done as it will probably be a recurring injury now. NOW, lets all go to the vet!!!!!
That's the dew claw.
If he is in pain and doesn't want to walk on it, you should have the vet look at it. He may have injured the dewclaw but it's always possible that's not the only damage. He may have fractured a bone as well.
The dewclaw isn't to big a deal although it's going to be sore. You can try running cold water across it. However if you continue to worry or he shows signs of worsening, go ahead and take him in.
That is the dew claw.
Honestly since he is limping and in pain, I think you should call the vet and talk to them, he may have injured more then his dewclaw.
Why do you think it necessary to wait before seeing a vet? It drives me mad when people bring in animals that have had a condition for days, or even weeks - why wait?
If an animal is in any pain or discomfort, the time to go to a vet is now. It isn't an emergency, but ring the vet now to make an appointment. This is your dog's dew claw - it's not uncommon for them to get partially ripped off.
How long would you like to wait if this was your thumb?

Does having a long nail on your little toe make it become purple.?
My little toe is purple and i want to know what's upDoes having a long nail on your little toe make it become purple.?
Just having a long nail won't make it purple. What could be happening is that your toenail is catching on your sock, or the inside of your shoe, and it's pulling it away from the toe. This causes blood to flow under the nail, which is what turns it purple.
It's not dangerous or anything, but you should cut your toenail.
I had a motorcycle accident a few years ago and the toenail on my big toe hit the inside of my shoe and it tore loose, just a little (it didn't feel loose, just sore). It got purple, then it got black! Then the nail fell off! It grew out again just as before, so I guess it was okay.rimmel

I am a Nail Tech but it takes me 2 hours to do a pink and white fill. Will a salon hire me?
no. 2 HOURS? your customer will die from boredom by then. what are you doing that takes that long..?I am a Nail Tech but it takes me 2 hours to do a pink and white fill. Will a salon hire me?
How long does it take you to do a full set? You might want to practice a bit more before you apply in a salon.
There are salons that will hire you, you will just need to be very upfront and truthful with them.
Good luck to you!

It possible to grow back the nail bed after its been bitten for a couple of years?
ive bitten them since i was little but stopped in the 5th grade
is it possible it would grow longer if i dont bite itIt possible to grow back the nail bed after its been bitten for a couple of years?
It is possible. It might be abit uneven but it is possible.
I know from experience :(It possible to grow back the nail bed after its been bitten for a couple of years?
The answer to your question should be yes, if you haven't damaged the matrix where-from the nail originates. Curing myself of nail baiting habits involved the purchase of a manicure kit and taking the time to invest my own energies into manicuring my own nails. I went all the way up to buffing the surface to a nice gloss...not as far as the lacquer; but, I did use the under the nail whitener a couple of times. Point is: while I haven't given myself a full manicure in quite a while, I haven't bitten my nails in years and routinely clip and file them once a week, rather than bite them down to the quick as a nervous habit.
it will always be deformed
Absolutely. The cuticle is the only area where new growth occurs. As long as the cuticle isn't damaged, then you can always anticipate growth. Nothing will make them grow faster, but you could try things to prevent you from biting them such as the special nail polish that tastes bitter if you attempt to chew them, and I've also hear of gelatin strengthening your nails and hair from the inside out, so eating a little bit of Jello now and again wouldn't hurt. If you can't find the nail polish, a home remedy of painting your nails with household kitchen vinegar has shown to be very useful for decades (my grandmother used to do that when she was young). Good luck growing those beautiful nails!

I put a clear coat of nail polish on my legs and then rub it around because it makes them feel a lot softer?
and smoother and shiner is this gonna do anyting%26gt;????I put a clear coat of nail polish on my legs and then rub it around because it makes them feel a lot softer?
Yes, they will feel softer, but for the while. If you do it repetitively, your skin will dry out and will become extremely prone to rashes and irritation. try vaseline or baby oil insteadI put a clear coat of nail polish on my legs and then rub it around because it makes them feel a lot softer?
yeah, not so good for you... not even in tiny amounts absorbed thru your nail beds. your skin will absorb all those nasty toxins! read about a few of the chemicals found in nail polish here: http://www.carefair.com/Beauty/Nails/Toxic_Nail_Polish_846.html
instead, try a lotion with all natural oils. your skin will thank you!
That will dry your skin out quick, try using a moisturizer/lotion. Baby oil also works.
USE LUBERDERM LOTION DAILY IT WORKS
Dont do that.
It will irritate your skin and such.
Use a really good moisturiser
thats not a good idea your legs might not like that and they might start to itch
It's not good for your skin at all. Try using lotion.
it doesnt sound like a good thing to do with your skin.

How long does it take to get rid of fongus applying vic vaporub to my nail toes?
I've heard that this sometimes actually works. But I read that it can take several months. How long does it take to get rid of fongus applying vic vaporub to my nail toes?
Does it really work? My son had to take that oral medication for a few months because they told him nothing applied to the surface of his nail would work. How are you doing it?
How long does it take to get rid of fongus applying vic vaporub to my nail toes?
My new doctor just told me about VapoRub. I was surprised, but see several people in Answers say it works. I have tried Lamisil and Sporonox and finally had 3 toenails removed. Now I am trying the VapoRub
There are better things that work faster like FOOTWORKS ANTI-FUNGAL FOOT SPRAY BY AVON,also check with your pharmacy.
Who said vic's vapo rub??? That's new. I've heard Lotramin AF. That works. I've even heard pee. Believe it or not, the U.S.M.C. teaches to pee on your feet to cure foot fungus. And yes, it DOES work. It's just gross to think about. But Vic's? That's new.

there is some stuff called No-bite but all of them have something about ';stop biting nails'; in their nameIs there a clear nail polish that has pepper in it so i won't chew my nails... If so where can I get it?

I ripped off my pinky nail about two weeks ago and was wondering if i should put an acrylic nail over it.?r=12?
NO...let it grow n heal on its own. Trust me acrylic is not a good thing for your nails..does not allow to breath plus other thingsI ripped off my pinky nail about two weeks ago and was wondering if i should put an acrylic nail over it.?r=12?
NO! never put a fake nail on a damaged nail. the best thing you can do for your nail is let it grow back. if it is painful to you try buying a finger brace so it doesnt get hurt. if you want to put a fake nail on it to hide it, then just wear a band aid.I ripped off my pinky nail about two weeks ago and was wondering if i should put an acrylic nail over it.?r=12?

Has anyone ever had a fungal infection in the toe/finger nail? If so, what did you use to treat it?
I got a pedicure and discovered a fungus. I lost th big toenail..Trying to treat it with over the couner aids..Has anyone ever had a fungal infection in the toe/finger nail? If so, what did you use to treat it?
A good treatment is undiluted hydrogen peroxide. Yep it will burn as hell but it works really well. Just get a orange stick ( you know the instrument used in manicures and pedicures) wrap the tip with a bit of cotton and dip into the hydrogen peroxide then gently clean out the nail area. Repeat at least twice a day or after each shower. It should bring your nail back to normal.Has anyone ever had a fungal infection in the toe/finger nail? If so, what did you use to treat it?
Fungal infection is very common disease seen, %26amp; is cure is easy, some oral antifungal tablets along with local antifungal ointment applied in the night %26amp; cover with some bandage so that the ointment is not wiped away.Only difficulty is the long duration of treatment, for a minimum period of six months or so.
Try soaking it in hydrogen peroxide sveral times.
As most fungal infections are under the nail, theres really nothing short of drilling a hole in it and digging it out you can do yourself. Go to the DR. and get an RX. for Lamisil.

Dog broke the nail almost all the way off on her dewclaw...im going to the vet to have it removed...?
does anyone know about how much its going to cost me because im running short on $ right now but i know its very inportant i take her today to get it done!Dog broke the nail almost all the way off on her dewclaw...im going to the vet to have it removed...?
Our hospital would charge anywhere from $80-150, however, price will greatly vary depending on location. Call your vets office and simply ask for an estimate! Good luck!Dog broke the nail almost all the way off on her dewclaw...im going to the vet to have it removed...?
shouldn't be more than a few dollars plus the office visit depending on where you live. most vets suggest removing the dew claws when spaying or neutering.
idk like $90- $120
I had ours done at the same time the spayed her...it was an additional $140.....in Indiana. You could try to see if the vet will allow you to make payments.... Good luck!
I'm sorry, I've never had this procedure done on my dog so I can't quote a price.
However, I did want to say, that if you're short on money right now, ask the vet if they can put you on some kind of payment plan, that way your not forking over a bunch of money all at once. I'm having to do that to get my dog's teeth cleaned.
not for sure of the cost were you live ,some vets will set up payments if need be .i wish you luck

What is it called when you get a hang nail in your pinky toe , should I pull it, or what. Help it hurts?
Try soaking it in epsom salts or try to get some Epsal (epsom salts oint for pimples) or Icthymmol oint (a black drawing salve) from the pharmacy and put on it with a bandaid to draw out the infection. If all else fails you could see a doctor or a podiatrist. What is it called when you get a hang nail in your pinky toe , should I pull it, or what. Help it hurts?
Treat a hangnail by trimming the hangnail area with clean manicuring scissors. This will help to prevent the hangnail from getting caught on clothing or anything else which would cause it to rip or tear close to the sensitive skin area. When trimmed, most hangnails will go away in a few days. Try not to pick at it.
To avoid getting any more hangnails, use a good moisturizer. Hangnails are caused by dry cuticles,,,,,(and that is easy to fix). What is it called when you get a hang nail in your pinky toe , should I pull it, or what. Help it hurts?
A real pain in the pinky! If nothing else, you have come up with a pretty catchy phrase. Hang nails can be a real pain in the pinky.
Honestly, before you take the advise of anyone over the internet when it has to do with your well being, I would just call your medical provider.

Is it okay if i mix 2 different color nail polishes?
B/C i wanna mix my dark navy blue with a little bit of white to make a lighter color navy blue. Will it work? and Is it okay to do that? wont be harmful right??????Is it okay if i mix 2 different color nail polishes?
that's fine my friend does it sometimes. maybe try it with just a few drops of each color on like, newspaper, to make sure the color comes out okay.Is it okay if i mix 2 different color nail polishes?
It might work. Take a toothpick and dip it in one color. Then take another pick and dip it in the other color. Mix the two colors on a sheet of paper. Then use a separate brush to apply the new color. Like if you have a color you don't use, wash the brush and use it so that you won't get your other two colors mixed up.
wrong! believe me honey been there done that! Mixed the same colors and you don't even want to know what happened, but oh well i'll tell you just for the warning. The second I poured that navy blue into the white, it exploded all up in my face! I looked like great aunt susan after she ate some triple bluberry pie!!!
yes it is fine plus it is always good to try something different
its perfectly fine, i do it all the time :)
no its fine

Is it normal for my bearded dragon to lose a nail?
i was just picking him up and i noticed a nail was messing is this normal or should i worryIs it normal for my bearded dragon to lose a nail?
get it to the vet ASAP!!!!Is it normal for my bearded dragon to lose a nail?
It is not normal. They can lose nails with injury. If part of the toe is also missing, it could be from improper shedding. They can also have infections and metabolic bone disease.

How can i get nail varnish off a 100% cotton, bubblegum pink top? or is it ruined now?
I would use an awesome product called sol-u-mel. I have a 13 yr old who does this all the time getting it on clothes, chairs, bedding and it takes it off even off walls and does not damage anything. How can i get nail varnish off a 100% cotton, bubblegum pink top? or is it ruined now?
I have never been able to remove it. I hope someone can tell you how! You may want to cover it somehow or dye it, but it still won't be the same. How can i get nail varnish off a 100% cotton, bubblegum pink top? or is it ruined now?
I got nail varnish on my duvet, i removed it with nail varnish remover, don't know about a bright pink top though, but if its ruined by the nail varnish it can't really get any worse, good luck
nail varnish remover will lift it out
Try acetone.
Soak the spot in nail varnish remover. You may have to do a few times, so soak, wash, soak wash. Also instead of washing it in the washing machine, hand wash it and scrub it with a nail brush. Should be fine as it is cotton.
I made it to level 4!!

Is it possible to cure onychauxis of the nail?
I've never heard of anyone successfully curing any kind of nail fungus long term. Only short term and then it comes back.
Best thing to do it have them trimmed and ground down by a podiatrist every couple of months so they are not painful.
or if you are up for it and NOT DIABETIC, buy a low powered dremel grinder, and grind them yourself on the lowest speed, you may want to wear a mask so you don't breath in the particles, and lay a towel down where you do it so you can easily clean the mess.
A diabetic with this problem MUST have it done professionally! otherwise gangrene can occur. Is it possible to cure onychauxis of the nail?
There isnt really a cure for thickening of the nail.makeup artist
